Where do I enter the code?
On gov.uk’s online passport application, under “Photo”. You enter three parts: domain (vspix), zone (org), and the 7-character code.
How long is the code valid?
90 days from issue. Plenty of time to finish your online application.
Can I use it for first-time passports?
Yes, as long as you’re using the online application. Paper applications still need a physical print.
Is my code unique?
Yes — each code maps to exactly one photo on our servers. Codes are random and unpredictable.
What if I’ve already entered a different code?
You can replace it. Re-enter the new vspix.org code; the previous one is discarded.
What size is the underlying photo?
35×45 mm, light grey background, gov.uk biometric spec. Same as a printed UK passport photo.
